War and Peace

In this ongoing series, I collect front pages of newspapers that announce the beginning and end of wars. The project began with a personal fascination—born from my own family’s history and our arrival in the United States at the end of the Vietnam War. My first saved front page was from September 11, 2001. Since then, I’ve continued searching for headlines that mark the thresholds of conflict. In March 2003, as the United States prepared to invade Iraq, I found myself reflecting on this growing archive. How many more headlines would I collect in my lifetime? How many more wars will we witness? Each page is a record, a reminder, and a question. And still, I hold onto hope that someday I’ll be able to add one final headline to the series—one that simply reads: Peace.
